Arvada
| West Arvada Dog Park | | Location: | by the reservoir at W. 64th Ave near Virgil | | Driving Directions: |
Head about 3/4 mile EAST of Hwy 93 on W. 64th Avenue to 17975 W. 64th Parkway. You'll see the Dog Park on the left (north) side of the road opposite Long Lake regional Park and just east of the Arvada/Bunn Reservoir. Turn left into the parking lot.
If coming WEST from Indiana (Hwy 72), it's 2 miles west of Indiana on 64th Avenue. Look for the signs. Turn right into the parking lot.
| | Parking: | Adjacent. | | Amenities: | So far, there's not much but stay tuned as there are BIG PLANS for this BIG PARK !! Right now there's no shade and no water and only one bench. There are poop bags (supplied by the public, so be sure to bring some for your dog and others) and Port-O-Lets. | | Description: | This park opened on June 18th, 2005. Eventually, it will encompass 20 acres !! Right now it's 5 acres of scrub grass and very steep hills -- very open and "wild" -- not a dog park for the faint-hearted!! Click here to see some pictures. Currently, there are 3 areas next to each other -- one's for shy/small dogs; one for larger or more outgoing dogs; and one in reserve. This park was funded by contributions from the public and JeffCo -- a major effort of some very dedicated dog-lovers. Kudos to the volunteers whose dream is becoming a reality!

| Aurora
| Aurora Off-Leash Dog Park | | Location: | west of Quincy Reservoir | | Driving Directions: | 17900 E. Quincy Avenue, west of Quincy Reservoir, just east of Pitkin Street
| | Parking: | Parking up the hill from the park, so expect to walk your dog on leash to the entrance. | | Amenities: | Water, picnic tables, no shade, poop bags. | | Description: | This park is on a slope and is quite large. Unfortunately on our visit, we saw 3 separate dogs pooping and their humans not making any effort at clean-up. There was a lot of abandoned poop all over the park, in fact. Here's hoping folks will learn to be more considerate in the future. The humans in this park didn't seem as friendly as at most other parks we've visited (but there was a really sweet blue heeler named Max). Maybe it was just a bad day in Aurora! We'll try again.

| Boulder
| Foothills Community Park Dog Park | | Location: | Northwest Boulder | | Driving Directions: | From Broadway, go north to Violet. Turn left (West) on Violet and follow it until it ends at 10th. Turn right (North) and then left and go until you see the park. Look for the dog park toward the north.
| | Parking: | Nearby, just a bit of a walk. | | Amenities: | Benches, poop bags. | | Description: | Two large fenced areas set up against the hill. A run-off sort of ditch winds thru one part of the more westerly section and could be a hazard. Also, the grass and landscape is kind of primitive and you do have to walk a bit from parking, so this park is not for the less fit dog or human. But it's got a delightful view and such nice people.
|
| Howard Hueston Park Off-Leash Area | | Location: | 34th Street, south of Iris, east of 30th Street | | Driving Directions: | Driving Directions: From Iris and 30th Street (you know, where the Petsmart is!), go east on Iris to 34th Street. Turn right (south) on 34th and follow the road until you see the park on the left.
| | Parking: | Nearby, just a tiny bit of a walk. | | Amenities: | Need to find out. Stay tuned. | | Description: | This park is not fenced -- it's a Voice and Sight Control area. The area where you can legally have your dog off leash is designated by yellow poles. The rest of the park requires that your dog is leashed.
|
| East Boulder Dog Park | | Location: | East Boulder Community Park, 55th Street south of So. Boulder Road | | Driving Directions: |
From Baseline and Foothills Expressway, go east to 55th Street. Turn left (north) on 55th and follow the road into the East Boulder Community Park. Go west past the community center building to the western parking lot by the tennis courts and look for the dog park toward the south.
From Arapahoe or So. Boulder Road, turn south onto 55th and follow it until it turns into the East Boulder Community Park (follow the signs and watch out for the speed bumps). Stop and park by the tennis courts and look for the dog park toward the south.
| | Parking: | Nearby, just a tiny bit of a walk. | | Amenities: | icnic tables, poop bags, water (the pond), separate fenced area for small dogs, not much shade. | | Description: | This park is such fun for the water-loving dog! There's a part of the pond that's fenced inside the dog park and it's the main attraction of the park.
|
| Valmont Dog Park | | Location: | Valmont Rd. between Airport Rd. and 55th Street | | Driving Directions: |
From Foothills Expressway, go east on Valmont past Airport Rd. Look for the big warehouses on the left. That's the parking for the dog park.
From Arapahoe and 28th, proceed east on Arapahoe to 55th. Turn left (north) onto 55th and drive until it dead ends at Valmont (you'll pass the Boulder Valley Humane Society and the post office...both on your left). Turn left (west) onto Valmont and look for the dog park on your right just a hundred yards or so past the mobile home park.
| | Parking: | Adjacent. | | Amenities: | Picnic tables, benches scattered here & there, poop bags, water, separate fenced area for small dogs, a big tree or two for shade. | | Description: | This park is "temporary" until the permanent one is completed down the street at the new Valmont Community Park (but who knows WHEN that's going to happen...it's been a couple of years already!). Anyway, this park is huge. A fenced part of it at the very far north end gets closed off when Boulder Valley Humane Society has agility classes in decent weather. But there's still plenty of room. There's almost always someone there who has never been to a dog park before, so be considerate of the novices and tell them not to worry...just let their dog off the leash and start enjoying !

| Brighton
| Happy Tails Dog Park | | Location: | Near the new Adams County Justice Center. | | Driving Directions: | About 3 miles east of the Wal-Mart at E. 152nd Ave (Bromley Lane) & Justice Center Drive
| | Parking: | Adjacent to the park. | | Amenities: | Poop bags. | | Description: | Quite large. In a reclaimed drainage ditch area so it's got a huge natural pond in the center. Note, pretty steep banks. Hope someone can supply a bit more information....??? Thanks.

| Broomfield
| Broomfield Dog Park | | Location: | Broomfield County Commons Park at Sheridan and 13th. | | Driving Directions: |
Coming north on Sheridan from 120th, turn right (east) into Broomfield County Commons Park Follow the road to the circle, go 3/4 of the way around the circle so that you're headed north into the large parking lot. You'll see the Dog Park sign. The dog park is on the left just a bit north after you turn into that parking lot.
If coming south from Dillon on Sheridan, it's about a mile and a half south (south of 136th) turn left (east) into Broomfield County Commons Park and follow the directions above.
| | Parking: | Adjacent. | | Amenities: | A couple of benches, poop bags (supplied by the public, so be sure to bring some for your dog and others). Water. Some new shade structures. There are 2 areas next to each other -- theoretically one's for small dogs & the other for big dogs. There are no signs to indicate this, but hopefully people will get the idea. The southern of the 2 areas is smaller. The northern area is HUGE!! | | Description: | This park is "temporary" until the ball fields take over. No indication if they'll provide another location if/when that happens. It's Broomfield's first and only dog park, as of early 2005. Here's hoping the dog owners start picking up the poop. There's always a lot left behind, it seems. There are mud brush/boot cleaners now installed by each gate -- what a GREAT IDEA!!!
|
| Colorado Springs
| Palmer Park Dog Park | | Location: | Palmer Park Dog Park. Off Maizeland near Academy, north of Constitution. Drive straight through the park gates and go about 2/10 of a mile up a slight hill and you'll see the dog park on your right. | | Driving Directions: | coming soon
| | Parking: | Adjacent to the park or near park entrance. | | Amenities: | Benches, poop bags, water. | | Description: | More info soon
|
| Rampart Park Dog Park | | Location: | Rampart Park. | | Driving Directions: | 8270 Lexington Drive in the north end of Colorado Springs.
| | Parking: | Paved & close by, but shared with a basketball court, so likely to be full at popular sports times (weekends, summer evening). | | Amenities: | Fenced in, with dirt & lots of bark. Large dead tree trunks scattered thru the park, which the dogs & people seem to like for climbing and sitting. | | Description: | (We haven't yet visited this park. This information was kindly supplied by email by a dog lover in the Springs! Thanks!)
|
| Bear Creek Off Leash Area | | Location: | Bear Creek Regional Park. Located at the northern end of the park, on 21st Street. | | Driving Directions: | Go south from I-25 on 21st, over the hill and it's on the right just past the light to Penrose Stadium.
| | Parking: | Off 21st just across from Rio Grande Street | | Amenities: | Not a lot of details, but I hear the views are wonderful, there's a creek running through, and there are 27 acres containing a lot of nice trails!! Not a dog PARK, per se, but an off-leash area. This park is operated by El Paso County Parks, rather than the city of Colorado Springs. | | Description: | (We haven't yet visited this park. This information was kindly supplied by email from a dog lover in the Springs! Thanks!)
|
| Denver
| Berkeley Park Off-Leash Dog Area | | Location: | Near the lake in Berkeley Park at 46th Avenue and Sheridan in Denver. | | Driving Directions: | Just south of I-70 on Sheridan in the northwest Denver area. Take Sheridan, look for the roller coaster. The dog area is just across Sheridan from the roller coaster. Drive south on Sheridan to 46th, turn left (east) on 46th and then left (north) into the Berkeley Park parking lot. Walk north past the pool and maintenance area and you'll see the lake and the dog area.
| | Parking: | In the park. | | Amenities: | Poop Bags | | Description: |
The park has it all but the off-leash dog area has NOTHING except poop bags. Not even a bench inside the fenced dog area. No separate fenced small dog area. But the PEOPLE -- oh, the PEOPLE who come to this park are SO NICE!!!
WARNING !!! If your dogs are skittish or easily scared, you might want to avoid this park! The Wild Cyclone -- a big roller coaster -- is across the street and when it's running, it can really terrify a dog -- it's very noisy.
|
| Green Valley Ranch East Park Off-Leash Dog Area | | Location: | In the park at E. 45th Avenue and Jebel Street (Denver, 80249 ---- Southeast of DIA) | | Driving Directions: | From Pena Blvd, going south of Denver International Airport, take EXIT 1B -- 48th Avenue. Turn RIGHT (east) onto E. 48th Ave. Go about 2 miles east and turn RIGHT (south) onto Jebel Street. You'll see the park on your right. Turn into the parking lot and the dog area is straight ahead.
| | Parking: | Adjacent. | | Amenities: | | | Description: | This off-leash dog area is not fenced. There are perimeter-defining markers, but what they define is a dog area just loaded with anthills and bumps and rough weeds. (Don't wear sandals!!!) So most folks just let their dogs run on the nicer grass and nobody seems to mind. We were there on July 4th, 2004 and met Brielle, Bayley, Mike, and their WONDERFUL dog named Storm.
|

|
| Durango
| Durango Dog Park (off-leash area) | | Location: | SW corner of Highways 550 & 160, on highway 160. | | Driving Directions: | On the south side of the Animas Rivier at the SW corner of Hwy 160 and Hwy 550 at the base of the mountain. You'll see the road sign for Silverton and Pagosa Springs if you're driving down the hill on 160 going east. The entrance to the park is just past that sign and just before Hwy 550 intersects.
| | Parking: | The designated parking area is located at the first driveway west of the Off-leash Area entrance on Highway 160, or at Schneider Park on Roosa Avenue. Accesss from Schneider Park using the Highway 160 underpath. You're going to have to walk a bit from wherever you park -- if you can find a place!! Find the park first and then figure out where to park. | | Amenities: | Poop bags | | Description: | Finally visited Durango in August of 2006 and tracked down this dog park. It's NOT EASY TO FIND but worth it if you get there. When you get to the corner of Hwys 160 and 550, look SW toward the river & the mountain (that's Smelter Mtn, by the way) and that's the dog park! It's 5 acres of scrub and hill with access to the river. When I was there, the city was having a dispute with squatters (!) on their land next to the "designated parking area", so don't park by the trailers just west of the dog park. The designated spaces are on the edge of the disputed area, right along Highway 160 as it comes down the hill from the west. There's a handicapped space and one other. Don't be tempted to use the handicapped space unless you can use it legally. And if your dog is easily scared by traffic, be sure you have your dog well under control as you have to walk along very speedy, busy Hwy 160 to get to the park entrance. Be sure to visit LeeAnn and her pups just up the hill on 160 at Healthy Hounds & Fat Cats (shop and doggie daycare -- 21738 US Hwy 160 West). If you're taking the Durango/Silverton train or spending a full day doing any of the wonderful other things available in the four corners area, you can leave your pup with LeeAnn for a safe and healthy day of care, go do your thing, and pick up your happy, tired dog at the end of the day. (She did NOT pay me to say this -- I heard about her while on the train and then actually ran into her while taking photos of the dog park.)
|
| Estes Park
| Estes Park Dog Park | | Location: | Off US 36, east of town, just east of the Stanley Park Fairgrounds. | | Driving Directions: | If coming into Estes Park on US 36 from Boulder/Longmont/Lyons, turn left onto Community Drive just before the fairgrounds. You'll see big Estes Lake on your right and a smaller lake on your left. That's when you need to slow down and get ready to turn left.
| | Parking: | Turn left immediately into the parking lot. | | Amenities: | Benches, poop bags, no drinking water. | | Description: | Opened in autumn of 2002, this park is going to be very popular. It's divided into 2 sections: one of which has access to the lake. It is VERY WINDY and can get really cold, so be sure you bring something warm! And of course, the views are spectacular.

Turn south (right) onto Froniter Street (CR 15) and look for the dog park on the right when you pass St. Vrain Ranch Blvd. It sits down in the gulley just south of St. Vrain Ranch Blvd and just north of Shenandoah.
| | Parking: | On Foxfire next to the park. | | Amenities: | Poop bags, shaded "pavilion" with picnic table. | | Description: | Brand New in spring 2005, the park has lush GRASS that the dogs just loved, but we're not optimistic about how long it will remain lush! There are tiny young trees that have been planted, so in about 10 years there will be some nice shade. There's a plan for a separate small / timid dog area by the end of summer 2005.. Kudos to Firestone for creating a charming little park.

| Lafayette
| THE GREAT BARK | | Location: | 119th Street, just north of Baseline. | | Driving Directions: | From downtown Lafayette (i.e., Public Road and Baseline), head east (toward Erie and like you're going toward I-25). Just as you leave town and the landscape opens up, you'll come to a traffic light. That's 119th Street. Turn left (North) and go just a few hundred yards. You'll see the dog park on your left.
| | Parking: | Yes. Adjacent, including a convenient handicapped slot. | | Amenities: | Benches coming. Boulders and tree-stumps for sitting coming soon. No water (BYOW). | | Description: | New Dog Park, opened on April 12, 2007. 6 acres of fenced land with a superb view of the Rockies. There's parking for 30 or 40 cars, a separate small/timid dog area, and a trail made of "crusher fines" (crushed gravel) that winds around the inside of the perimeter (0.4 miles if you walk the whole distance). There are poop bag stations -- so please bring your saved newspaper and grocery bags to replenish the supply. There are bowls for water, but please bring your own -- or join the gallon exchange. Take an empty gallon container, refill it, and return it. There are plans for some sheltered benches and a few more natural features like big tree-trunks and boulders for seating. The grass is the natural plains grass so it gets very long in spring, but you can bet it will be brown from the summer sun and trampled down by all the dogs who have discovered this wonderful dog park.

| Littleton
| Chatfield State Park | | Location: | Wadsworth Blvd. and C-470. | | Driving Directions: |
| | Parking: | | | Amenities: | | | Description: |
We haven't yet visited this park yet, but some wonderful folks who have been there are supplying some information for us all. Here's what I've received recently. Thanks, folks, for all this information!!
Greg says: "The park is huge!! and is not fenced. The borders of the leash free area are the park road on the south, and the spillway/river on the north. The dam road on the west side, and just east of the 2nd pond. It is approximately 3/4 of mile long and 1/3 mile wide. Limited shade is available. It has two ponds available for dog swimming and about 2 miles of trails. To get to the dog park go to the Wadsworth entrance of the park (about 1/2 mile south of C-470) - enter the park. ($5/day or $55 for an annual pass good at all state parks) When you get to the first turn, go left and follow the road up and over the dam. You will be on the east side of the dam near the spill way. The two parking lots are on the left side of the road. Bathrooms and a picnic area is available at the first lot. Parking and bathrooms are the 2nd parking lot and this lot is closest to the two ponds. Both parking lots are large and can hold 50+ cars apiece. On weekends there are usually 100+ dogs at the park during the peak hours. No separate area for smaller dogs."
Tracy & Tony say: ... it's fabulous!! Worth noting:At least 2 ponds (or lakes!) for dogs to swim or wade in. Lots of friendly people and dogs. Public bathrooms with fresh doggy water dispenser. Adequate trash cans for doggie doo. Tons of room to explore. Large parking area.I would dare to say the most fun dog park in the Denver ARea. Definitely worth checking out. We got there through Chatfield State Park and paid the $6 entrance fee, although I'm discovering that there's a free entrance if you're only going West on C-470....a small exit from the freeway, just west of Santa Fe and a path which leads to the dog park.
Shino Says: I just wanted to inform you that there is a legal way to get into Chatfield park with out paying. Just take c 470 east and exit Santa Fe. Make a left and enter back onto C 470 west. There is a dirt road that exits into a dusty road that will take you into a parking lot. You can park in the first parking lot or keeping heading down the dirt road to the other parking lot. There is a path that will take you under the freeway into the park. Dogs must be leashed until you reach the dog training site. There are a ton of bikers so it’s best to stay attentive.
Jennifer says: I take my dogs daily to Chatfield State Park dog area. It is really supposed to be a “dog training” area, but 99% of the folks that use it are there just for fun. Yippee. Occasionally (and not very often), you’ll hear a training pistol, and they are legal to use there. So, if your dog is freaky about that sound, use caution. Most of us “regulars” purchase a yearly pass (around $55 I think. I’m not sure. My friend got me a senior pass, even though I’m not a senior. Don’t tell anyone!), as we are there every day. I believe it is $6/day to get in without a pass. Free access is also available on the north side of the dog area at C-470, just West of Santa Fe on the north side of the street. It’s a little tricky to find, as the parking area comes out up you right away as you’re driving west from Santa Fe. It is a short walk (1/2 mile or so) then to get to the doggie area if you park here. And, often, this area fills up fast, as it is free and popular. I enter at the main park entrance, then travel east, up and over the dam to the 3 parking lots to the dog area. The first 2 lots have bathrooms (and no shade), while the last (and best) area, the Cottonwood Picnic Area, does not have bathrooms (but it does have big shady trees). This picnic area is common for doggie club get-togethers too. All three are within a short walking distance of each other. The 2nd parking lot has a water spigot for drinking water for the dogs. Often, there are poopie bags available at all 3 areas, but I always take my own. I get irate when other dog owners don’t pick up their dog’s waste. I make sure and yell out loudly, for all to hear, “Do you need a bag? You’re dog is leaving you a present right here” They’re usually not watching their dog. Gosh, don’t get me started on that JNow, to the water. There are 2 large ponds (lakes?) for the dogs to frolic in. You are also allowed to let them get in the river. Sometimes this gets slow and the water gets smelly. When it is flowing, it is a good spot for dogs to get in, as it is only about 1-1 ½ feet deep. And it is colder and a little cleaner than the lake water. The speed limit in the park is 25 miles per hour, and is strictly enforced by the State Patrol! Beware. They will ticket you.Whatever you choose to do—walk, swim, lollygag, meet your regular doggie friends, you’ll have a good time. I’ve been going there for 6 years now. You can’t beat it anywhere.
Cinnamon, Kristin & Erich say: Even though we live in Westminster, we make it a point to get to Chatfield as often as possible with Cinnamon, our Great Pyrenese/Golden mix. This is a very popular park, and for good reason. In addition to having an enormous off-leash park with 2 lakes for the swimming types, boundless fields for fetch, and hiking trails, there are hundreds of dogs on the weekends waiting to meet and greet, but enough space that you and your dog can "get away from it all" and hardly run into a soul if you prefer. As for the secret (legal) way to get there, it's both simple and complex (due to the unnamed exit off of C-470). To access this area you must be on C-470 heading toward the mountains (despite my research I can't find the official C-470 direction, but I believe it's called C-470 South--at any rate you should be on C-470 heading towards I-70 and away from I-25). THERE IS NO WAY TO ACCESS THIS PARKING AREA COMING FROM THE OTHER DIRECTION UNLESS YOU EXIT SANTS FE, AND THEN HEAD THE OTHER DIRECTION ON C-470. About 1/2 mile after Santa Fe, and before Platte Canyon, you exit to the right into what looks like a construction site. As soon as you exit you will want to take your first right onto the dirt road so as not to enter the construction site. Be careful! The speed bumps are deadly! There are two parking areas--you'll likely end up parking in the first (and larger) one that you come across on the right, but if you proceed you'll also find a small area where the street dead-ends. If you end up in the larger lot simply follow the trail on the northeast side of the lot about 1/3 of a mile to the second parking area. On the east side of that parking area the entrance to the path is easily visible. Head south (right) on the path, under C-470 (watch out for the bikers that refuse to dismount despite the signs!), up the small hill, to the fork in the path. Take the left fork (instead of straight/right), so that you're crossing over the bridge. After the bridge take a right, and you will see the off-leash park about 1/4 mile in front of you. WARNING: DO NOT UNLEASH YOUR DOG UNTIL YOU HAVE REACHED THE SIGN THAT SAYS IT'S O.K. TO DO SO. THERE IS FREQUENTLY A CHATFIELD RANGER/POLICE OFFICER STATIONED AT THE SIGN WAITING TO TICKET PEOPLE WHO UNLEASH TOO EARLY! This entrance has a path that follows the South Platte, but you will soon see a fairly steep (but small) hill in front of you. You can either mount the hill (most people do), or follow the winding path to the top. Once you've crested you will see the first of two doggie lakes, a.k.a. "Splashdown". Feel free to explore the hundreds of acres! Chatfield is great about posting signs that let you know if you've exited the off-leash area, and frankly that's difficult to do since the area is so immense.

| Longmont
| Longmont Francis Dog Park | | Location: | SE corner of Francis & 21st | | Driving Directions: | from I-25, take Exit 240 (U.S. 119) west through Longmont (it becomes 3rd Avenue). After you pass downtown (Main Street), keep proceeding west to Francis Street. Turn right (North) on Francis and proceed to 21st. Turn right (east) on 21st and go past the dog park a block to park at the Carr Park parking lot.
| | Parking: | Down the street at Carr Park. | | Amenities: | Picnic table, benches, poop bags, small covered shelter and a separate fenced small dog area. | | Description: | Recently GREATLY IMPROVED, this is now a really nice dog park. It's HUGE and is now sectioned off into 2 areas which are rotated into use periodically. This seems so sane -- it lets one section "rest" and re-grow while the other section is in use. There's also a special area for small dogs that is accessible from Francis or from inside the westernmost of the 2 sections.

| Longmont Airport Dog Park | | Location: | Just north of Longmont's Airport (Vance Brand Airport) on St. Vrain Rd. off Airport Rd. | | Driving Directions: | from I-25, take Exit 240 (U.S. 119) west through Longmont to Hover Street. Turn right (northh) on Hover and proceed to Nelson Rd or Rogers Rd (if you miss Nelson). Turn left (west) on Nelson or Rogers and continue west to Airport Rd. Turn right (north) onto Airport. Drive just north of the airport to St Vrain Rd (you'll see the Dog Park sign just before the turn). Turn left (west), go just past the dog park on your left and turn into the parking lot.
| | Parking: | Adjacent to the park. | | Amenities: | Picnic tables, benches, poop bags, water, small covered shelter, the basic agility equipment has been pretty much destroyed in the 3+ years this park has been open. There's a separate fenced small dog / timid dog area. | | Description: | A really nice park, but often very muddy, so be prepared. People don't tend to monitor their dogs' behavior as well as they should at this park -- too much people-socializing going on. And watch out for aggressive dogs. There seem to be a lot of them at this park and a lot of fights to break up. Come just before sunset on sunny, clear, non-windy days, and you're likely to see parachuters coming down onto the aiport next door.

| Louisville
| Louisville Dog Park | | Location: | Community Park, Bella Vista Dr and County Rd | | Driving Directions: | If you know Louisville, just go south on Main thru town and it will dead end at the park. Or From South Boulder Road and Highway 42, go south to Pine (less than a mile). Turn right (west) on Pine Cross the railroad tracks and turn left just before you get into downtown onto Front Street (the downtown Louisville Post Office is on the SW corner). Go about 2 tenths of a mile (the name of the road changes to County Rd) and you'll see a brand new park on your right (the west side of County Rd and Bella Vista Dr). Turn right (west) on Bella Vista and then right (north) into the park. You'll see the dog park on your right as you drive into the park.
| | Parking: | Nearby, just a tiny bit of a walk to the fancy gates of the dog park! | | Amenities: | Poop Bags, Benches, Covered Area | | Description: | There are benches and a covered area. Loads of grass and some neat boulders scattered here and there to sit on. The roof of the covered area is a big metal dog, check it out! Doesn't provide much shade but it's so cute! There's a pond with reclaimed household water. Signs say to make your own individual decision about allowing your dogs to use the pond. In other words, it may not be the healthiest for your pet, and giardia happens fast in water used by dogs. There is no drinking water for dogs/people in the dog park, but since it's in the Community Park, there are drinking fountains close by ...and restrooms too.

| Northglenn
| Northglenn Dog Park | | Location: | Irma, just north of 104th | | Driving Directions: | From 104th, head north on Irma. It's on the east side, just past the Regatta Apartments and next to the baseball field. (Thanks to Matt for directions!)
| | Parking: | Adjacent. | | Amenities: | Picnic tables, covered structures for shade, poop bags, water. | | Description: | Some additional details from Diana: "It is mostly dirt, so if it rains... mud. Most all visitors are very considerate, and the group that takes care of it is called D.O.G. - Dog Owners Group. Northglenn provides most poop bags, although D.O.G. supplement with bunches more.
They have major clean up parties about every 3-4 months, and have a really big turn out. There is a soft padded area at the entrance, like a special kind of soft flooring that they had installed last year to keep the mud down, it seems to work ok."

| Westminster Dog Park | | Location: | Colordao Hills Trail Head and Off Leash Dog Park. 105th & Simms. | | Driving Directions: | Take 108th until it dead-ends at Simms. Go south to 105th... the park is on your right (west).
| | Parking: | Adjacent. | | Amenities: | Benches scattered here & there, poop bags, water.. | | Description: | Way out west on the west side of Westminster, this is a HUGE area for dogs and hikers. There's lots of room, lots of parking, water, benches, and a lot of prairie dog hills and holes. Be careful. Also, the non-secure fencing will be NO deterrent to the ambitious runner, so be sure your dog doesn't get away from you!
